SAVOIR-FAIRE
THE MAISON
A PASSION FOR CRAFTMANSHIP
Creating couture is about creating extraordinary beauty. The craftmanship of different kinds of savoir-faire techniques are at the heart of the creation. Combining the know-how's of moulage, textile dying, embroidery, feather work and other techniques enables to create clothing and garments with quality, enriched storytelling
and outstanding allure.

EMBROIDERY
INNOVATION AND CREATIVITY WITH A PASSION FOR THE UNIMAGINABLE
Embroidery is a form of art created with various techniques and beautiful, innovative materials which in the end bring alive the garment in an extraordinary way.

The innovation and creativity in embroidery is endless. There are various techniques and an unlimited source of materials that are used to breath life the most beautiful ideas that this work of art can offer.

Like Monsieur Lesage famously once said ''A garment without embroidery is like the 14th of July with no fireworks.''

Embroidery at its best enriches the fascinating storytelling of the couture piece, brings a certain uniqueness and value making the garment timeless and truly extraordinary.

FEATHERS
INFINITE WAYS TO CREATE
Feathers are an important part of the savoir-faire. They are often used in creating beautiful details like flowers or at times some bigger elements describing and revealing the story of the collection.

Feathers offer an infinite way of working and realising art in the most beautiful way offering at the same time a side of softness and lightness.

TEXTILE
CREATION
L'HEAVEN
L'Heaven was created by Katariina Prinz while working on her graduate and debut Couture Collection -39 Degrees of Light.

L'heaven is a textile creation that is created by using various different fabrics. The idea of the textile creation L'heaven was to create a fabric that embodied the powder-like lightness of snow and the heavenly beautiful and fragile light rose colors of a Nordic winter sky.

With various experimentations until the perfect result was achieved, the textile creation L'Heaven was finally born. Representing heavenly beauty like its name ''The Heaven,'' L'Heaven.
COUTURE
MOULAGE AND PATTERN MAKING
Each couture creation begins with an idea of a beautiful garment that is then transformed into the first prototype called ''la première toile'' in French.

The patterns for the first prototypes are done either by drafting a pattern with specific calculations on the table, or very often especially when working with couture; by moulage.

Working by ''moulage'' means working with the fabric directly on the mannequin to achieve the perfect patterns for the first prototype. Couture garments, representing piece of art creations, demand extreme attention to detail. Thus to achieve the finest and most excellent result for a couture piece is to create the garment from the very beginning by moulage.
DYEING
DYEING TO DEFINE
Each color gives away a story. Sometimes the right fabric isn't the right color and this is when we ''dye to define.''

Dying and painting a fabric gives the opportunity to elaborate the artistic expression and in a specific desired way represent the untold story of the new collection.

DROPS OF DREAMS
PURPOSE OF SAVOIR-FAIRE
The purpose and most important mission with our savoir-faire is to create what we like to call ''Drops of Dreams.'' All of the various and important savoir-faire techniques are used to achieve creations that leave people dreaming.

Dreaming of beauty. And the stories behind the extraordinary garments.
